In the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic many clients have expressed their concerns about how their purchase, sale, or refinance transactions may be affected.
In Ontario, lawyers, banks, and land registration services have been deemed essential services and continue to operate. Vandeputte Law remains open and available to assist you. We are taking the following steps to ensure safe and efficient operation during this unprecedented times:
- Our office is now operating “By appointment only” and we have implemented social distancing protocols, including having some staff work remotely when possible;
- We are utilizing video conferencing technology to hold client meetings, including meetings to sign documents for real estate transactions;
- We are coordinating with other law firms and real estate agents to ensure keys and documents are exchanged in an efficient and safe manner;
- We are working with our banking partners and title insurers to ensure a smooth closing process.
All changes to our processes are being done in accordance with the guidelines of the Law Society of Ontario, and in accordance with all other applicable laws and regulations.
